Advanced Tiers

This two-day overview with facilitated work sessions is designed to help existing advanced tiers teams expand their capacity to provide effective advanced tier supports. Anchored to a learning boost in the core components of advanced tiers, teams will be provided time to complete activities relevant to their own implementation.

Intended Audience: This is designed for new and existing teams having some familiarity with the components of advanced tiers. It is recommended that division coordinators discuss participation with their VTSS systems coach prior to school personnel registering for this event.

Learning Intentions:

To strengthen their school's MTSS framework, participants will:

  • Describe, synthesize, and apply advanced tiers essential elements
  • Define the roles, responsibilities and meeting structures for effective advanced tier team meetings that demonstrate authentic family engagement
  • Identify screening and "requests for assistance" tools that can be used for identifying students in at least one domail who might benefit from advanced tiers support
  • Review and analyze intervention level of use, progress monitoring, student performance, and fidelity data and apply advanced tiers data-informed decision-making
  • Align MTSS framework across tiers and domains
  • Delineate essential components of professional learning and coaching plans to support advanced tiers interventions and effective implementation
