Strand 1: Data-Informed Decision Making

Through three one-day data-informed decision-making professional learning events, division leadership teams will build on the work begun during the Exploration & Installation series. Teams will refine effective data meeting structures and develop an understanding of the DLT’s role in supporting school-based teams by providing access to data for problem-solving and implementation of evidence-based practices; develop systems that support staff in efficient implementation of instructional practices; and explore the process for selecting evidence-based practices for teaching academic, behavior, and mental wellness skills.

Learning intentions for Strand 1 Series:

  • Develop effective data-informed decision-making systems starting with the development of an integrated data dashboard (Matrix 2.A and 2.C) for division and school use.
  • Understand the DLT’s roles in supporting school-based teams by providing access to data (Matrix 2.A), this allows the school-based teams to implement TFI 1.12-1.14, 2.3, 3.9, and 3.14 and A-TFI 1.6B and 1.12A.
  • Develop effective data-informed decision-making systems that support adults in the efficient implementation of instructional practices for teaching academic, behavior, and mental wellness skills (Matrix 2.B).
  • Understand the DLT’s role in supporting the SLT by providing a process for using data for decision making (Matrix 2.B), this allows the SLT to implement TFI 1.13 and 1.14, 2.11, 2.12, 3.14 and 3.15 and A-TFI 1.13.
  • Analyze and practice a process/tool for selecting evidence-based practices for teaching academic, behavior, and mental wellness skills (Matrix 3.C ).
